I first found out about these picks back in 1990 from Fred’s daughters, I got a couple, loved ’em, lost ’em. Then fingerpicker/Nashville artist Ronnie Prophet turned me on to them again. They are GREAT! You won’t break these picks, you’ll either lose them or give them away to other players ‘cuz they’re so good! Every time I’m in Nashville for the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society fest I get more. Two words for you. Try them.

I never offer reviews … I’d like to offer one for the Speed Pick Delrin. Here goes …

I’ve been playing for 50 years. I’m an accomplished player. This is the best pick I’ve ever used. I use this pick for everything (never use a flat pick); only it and my nails. My style is rock/jazz/country. I had played for years with a National; the first time I used this I was blown away and said goodbye to the clunky National forever. The design of the pick (the slots cut up into the flat part) allows the pick to “give” with incredible response. So when playing rythym I use the pick on the down stroke and index nail on the upstroke. When playing lead a combination of all directions. When playing jazz, or other finger style, the tamber of the pick matches my nails perfectly. I play both acoustic and electric. I use the “light” gauge pick on 52 – 11 strings (I use 52 – 11 strings on both electric and acoustic).

Very well done, Fred! Please keep making these … I’ll keep buying them!

PS I’m so pleased with them I actually DO give them away … trying to evangelize for you 😉 !

Please make in extra heavy – 5 star+++++ would be the rating.

Great picks, have used all three gauges during the last 3 years looking for the combination of speed and feel. I mostly play metal (how i came to use thumb picks is to long of a story but now I would never use anything else) and the Heavy gauge gives me the ability to chug as well play lead. Don’t think of this as simply a thumb pick, but rather as a pick attached to your thumb. Can be used for clean/melodic through high gain. Extra Heavy would just make it sooooo much better..
